Stitchery Classes

Our classes are held throughout the year at the Central Scottish School of Craft in Dunblane, Scotland. They cover a range of subjects, usually centred around garment construction through the lens of zero waste sewing. Some regular themes include:

Fitting

Making Shirts

Making a Jacket

Clothes for Fy’s #urbanclassicdoll pattern by @petitapetitblog sewn and embroidered from fabric scraps and a zero waste skirt pattern. The doll (named Ada) was made by @_rachell @a.useful.garment

I’ve been taking part in setting up an exciting new initiative called Sustainable Fashion Scotland. Follow us @susfashscotland to learn more. Tomorrow evening we’re hosting our second event (online of course) in order to gain insights from those of you that may be interested in taking part in our initiative or accessing our resources. The event will be a collaborative workshop where we will all be encouraged to discuss and explore topics around solutions for a connected fashion industry. Maisie (age 8), Bea (age 5) and I had a fantastic online Zoom homeschooling lesson today about making clothes without making waste. We made this top from an A4 sheet of paper, with no waste!
