  • The Stitchery 24 Sandyford Place Glasgow, Scotland, G3 7NG United Kingdom (map)

2-day weekend workshop // 10am - 5pm both days // Level: Beyond Beginner // Cost: £125 // Places Available: 8 // Instructor: Cassandra Macindoe, Designer & Stitchery Founder // Project: The Overture Set by Storybook Patterns

We're a little excited about this workshop: A chance to upgrade your garment construction skills, learn directly from the pattern designer, and make something wonderful for your wardrobe!

About This Course

To be honest, we're a little excited about this workshop, which will be formed around our first garment design to be released under the Storybook Patterns label.

Designed and developed in-house by Cassandra Macindoe and friends, The Overture Set is a light and flowing garment that can be made as either a dress or shirt. Based on a trapeze silouhette, it features eye-catching elements such as a wide centre-back pleat; a dropped hem; a classic shirt collar & collar stand; a rouleau loop closure; French seams; Hong Kong seam finishes; and in-seam pockets in the dress.

This 2-day weekend workshop is a chance for your to upgrade your garment construction skills; learning key techniques for The Overture directly from the Designer. Choose your own fabric, make it for your own unique body, and create a wonderful new peice for your wardrobe.

As well as demonstrating techniques, Cassandra will also be retelling the story of her design process for The Overture and dropping a few tips for sustainable garment construction.  The Overture Set will be officially released in the August edition of Simply Sewing magazine (Issue 20).

Before You Come

To make the most of the weekend, we're recommending that students arrive at this workshop with their fabric pattern peices already cut out. To make this possible, we're offering to post the pattern out to participants. During the booking process you'll have the option to receive your pattern by post or pick it up in person from the studio.
