2 hour workshop // 9:30am - 11:30am // Instructor: Cassandra Belanger // Cost: £25
This workshop is part of the Sew Doable open studio weekend at The Stitchery. We've been listening to your feedback, and this is one of the topics you really wanted to cover. So we've created this mini workshop just for you.
About This Workshop
Did you know that most commercial patterns are drafted to a B-Cup? And since we're (thankfully) not all the same size or shape, bust adjustments are a necessary step in order to make your garment fit really well.
In this workshop Cassandra Belanger will be demonstrating step-by-step techniques for a Full Bust Adjustment (FBA) and Small Bust Adjustment (SBA) on a paper pattern. Through the use of bodice samples, she will then be explaining the effect of an FBA on your garment. Each student will then have a chance to try one of the techniques on a paper pattern sample of their own. As part of this workshop, Cassandra will also be demonstrating dart manipulation: moving darts, changing their length, and curving them.
Note: You must have a basic understanding of garment construction for this course. If you've taken any of our beginner Making Clothes or similar courses, then you will be fine.
