About This Course

This is the ideal step up from the Beginner's 'Making Clothes' course and is suitable for those with a basic grasp of garment construction, having made at least one item of clothing.

Led by Susie Haigh, this 10 week, in-depth course is designed to reinforce your basic skill set whilst allowing your understanding to grow in new areas such pattern alterations, set-in sleeves, inserting collars, bust adjustments, linings, using an overlocker, and specialty seem finishes. As you learn these new techniques, you'll be applying them to your own toile and final garment, chosen from our selection of patterns.

As always, the course is intended to give you skills that can be applied to a range of other garment types and projects. A sewing machine will be available for each student (unless you wish to bring your own) and if you happen to miss a class or two, you can easily catch up through our Sunday Sewing Sessions, machine rental, or private tuition.
