2-day weekend workshop, 10am - 4:30pm both days (+ 1 prep evening, 5:30-6:30pm) // Level: Beyond Beginner // Cost: £120 // Instructor: Susie Haigh // Pattern: Bettine Dress
About This Course
In this course we'll be delving into the world of knits: the perfect fabric for comfortable, every day clothing. If you've only ever sewn with woven fabrics, then this is chance to try something new and a great opportunity to enhance your clothes making repertoire.
Techniques taught will included: choosing knit fabric, cutting patterns, using your home sewing machine to sew knits - tips and techniques, using stabilisers and interfacings for knits, basic seams, setting in sleeves, hems and cuffs, using a twin needle.
Your canvas for this course will be the Bettine Dress by Tilly & The Buttons; a versatile, beginner level pattern, with enough options to meet you at the level you're comfortable with (or stretch you a little further!).
This is a Beyond Beginner course, which means you must have a basic understanding of how to use the sewing machine to take part. If you've taken any of our beginner level courses then you should be fine.

Prep Session
So that you can come fully equipped to make the most of the weekend, we'll be hosting a prep session on Sunday 21st February, 5:30-6:30pm. Although not absolutely essential, we do recommend making it along to this session if you can.
The prep session will be a chance for you to pick up your pattern, take your measurements and decide correct sizing. Susie will also be demonstrating how to trace your pattern, allowing you to work on it at home in the run up to the weekend workshop.
If you're unable to make this prep session, you can always come in during the week to pick up your pattern and have a quick chat about the workshop. Just get in touch to arrange this.
